Updated June 15, 2025
Starting July 1, 2025, Armenia will implement a visa-free policy for citizens and residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The move is designed to strengthen economic relations and increase tourism between Armenia and the GCC member states: the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.
The new policy allows passport holders from GCC countries to travel to armenia for tourism, leisure, or business without a visa. Stays are limited to 90 days within a 180-day period.Individuals with valid residency permits issued by any of the GCC countries, with at least six months of validity from the date of entry into Armenia, also qualify for visa-free entry.
Lusine Gevorgyan, chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic, said the decision reflects Armenia’s commitment to accessibility for regional travelers. She added that she looks forward to welcoming more guests from the GCC seeking meaningful travel experiences.
The Armenian government expects the visa waiver to stimulate collaboration with the GCC, supporting a broader tourism strategy that includes enhanced air connectivity, improved visitor infrastructure, and dynamic destination marketing.
Armenia previously introduced visa-free travel for UAE citizens in 2017, Qatar citizens in 2019, and Kuwait citizens in 2022.
