HoArnold Schwarzenegger is one of the names that are carried enthusiastically in the minds of Hollywood movie lovers. Conan the Barbarian, Predator, and Terminator are just a few of the Arnold movies that fans love. Arnold has now opened up about the journey he took to become an action star. Arnold says these things in his recent book, Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life.

In the book, Arnold talks about an incident that happened on the setting of Conan the Barbarian. Arnold says he had to bite a real dead eagle several times for a scene in the film. He did that painful act because of his sincerity towards work. Arnold also remembered that he washed his mouth with alcohol after each intake. Arnold wrote this openly to show the colorless side of Hollywood.

Arnold said he wanted to do the stunt scenes with naturalness. He was injured while filming Conan the Barbarian and needed forty stitches. He also said that as there were no good stunt dupes at the time, he was forced to act in scenes where he crawled until the skin on his knees and elbows trembled. The actor also remembers the accident in the water during the shooting of the film The Sixth Day.

“It was a very simple scene of swimming in a swimming pool. But the pool had a cover. It was enough to reach the same place where I started swimming. But I couldn’t breathe. But luckily the stunt double, Billy Lucas, recognized the danger is coming and saved me.” Schwarzenegger said.

Arnold noted that stunt work in Hollywood has changed significantly as the importance of weight lifting has been recognised. The actor notes that as weight lifting becomes more popular, more stunt doubles are used and this reduces the actors’ workload. Arnold wrote that this change gives him and his peers a more stable and safe work environment.
