Adelaide: England lose the second Test of the Ashes Series. England lose by 275 runs in the day-night Test against Australia in Adelaide. England were bowled out for 192 on the fifth day with a target of 468. Captain Joe Root and others returned on the fourth day.
Root was able to score only 24 runs. Another video of the route itself went viral before it was released. It was Australia’s pacer Mitchell Starc’s ball hitting the navel. As soon as the ball hit the ground the root rolled to the ground but the commentators could not stop laughing.
Former South African Jacques Kallis and former Australia captain Ricky Ponting were all in the commentary box trying to stop the laughter. Root, on the other hand, is in pain. The Australian players and umpires rushed towards the route. Then the English medical team went to the ground.
Minutes later the route was able to stand up. He had to take painkillers to continue batting. Yet the pain did not go away. The route was difficult to play shots and run runs. Root then got the ball out of the stark.
