  • “Still Broken”: Assassin’s Creed Origins Players Frustrated by ongoing Windows 11 Update Issues

Frustration mounts as Ubisoft’s popular title remains plagued by compatibility issues following a Windows 11 update.

Last November, gamers across the U.S. experienced widespread problems with several ubisoft titles, including Star Wars Outlaws, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed Origins, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, after installing the Windows 11 24H2 update. Players reported frequent crashes, freezing, and complete game malfunctions.

While Ubisoft swiftly addressed the issues affecting Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Star Wars Outlaws, problems persist for the Assassin’s Creed franchise, particularly Assassin’s Creed Origins.

The impact on Origins is evident in its recent Steam reviews. The game currently holds a 65% rating for “recent” reviews, a meaningful drop attributed to the problematic update. Negative reviews and feedback surged after the update, with many players citing unexplained compatibility issues.

“It’s really frustrating,” said Sarah, an avid Assassin’s Creed Origins player. “I was really enjoying the game, but now it’s practically unplayable. It crashes constantly, and sometimes it just freezes entirely.”

Ubisoft has yet to announce a fix for the lingering Assassin’s Creed issues.

Q&A: What’s Going On With Assassin’s Creed Origins?

Mark: Hey Sarah, have you heard about the problems some people are having with Assassin’s Creed origins lately?

Sarah: Yeah, it’s all tied to a Windows 11 update. Remember back in November there were a bunch of Ubisoft games that were having issues with the 24H2 update?

Mark: Right, I think I remember seeing something about that. Those got fixed, right?

Sarah: Yeah, for the most part. But Assassin’s Creed Origins is still giving people trouble. Players are reporting constant crashes, freezing, and the game just not working properly.

Mark: Wow, that’s rough.I thought Ubisoft fixed everything.

Sarah: They did, for some games. But Origins seems to be the one hanging on. The Steam reviews for Origins are even dropping as of it – it’s down to 65% for recent reviews.

Mark: That’s a big drop. Have you seen any videos about it?

Sarah: Yeah, there’s this YouTube video that shows how bad it is. It’s gotten a ton of views because so many people are experiencing the same thing.

Mark: Man, that’s frustrating. Are there any solutions? Has Ubisoft said anything about fixing it?

Sarah: Honestly? Not really. They haven’t announced a specific fix for Origins yet. So, people are just stuck hoping for an update.

mark: Fingers crossed Ubisoft gets on it soon. That’s a beloved game, and folks deserve to be able to enjoy it again.
