New York, NY – In ‌a‌ move aimed at bolstering financial stability for professional‍ tennis players, the ATP ‍men’s tennis tour disbursed $1.3 million to ⁢26 players in 2024 through ⁤its innovative Baseline program. This groundbreaking initiative, launched in August 2023, guarantees minimum annual incomes for‍ players ranked within the top 250.

To ⁣put these figures into perspective, year-end No. 1 Jannik Sinner earned $16.9 million in prize money in 2024,‍ while No. ⁢100 Federico Coria took home⁢ approximately $590,000, and No.⁢ 250 Abdullah Shelbayh earned just under $205,000 in singles.

“We’re giving players the financial support they need to overcome challenges⁤ and build a enduring career,” said ATP Chairman Andrea ⁤Gaudenzi,⁣ a former player himself.

While over 100 players participated in the program in‍ 2024, the ATP‌ hopes to see even greater participation in the coming‍ years. Players‍ must ‌sign up to be eligible for the program’s benefits.
