The Audios case has now spread its tentacles with one of the most controversial chapters of Michelle Bachelet’s Government: the Caval case.
The Audios case, starring Luis Hermosilla, continues to leave splinters across the political spectrum and the victim this time would be Bacheletismo, after they came into view possible steps by the lawyer to close Caval’s case, where the main character was Sebastián Dávalos, son of Michelle Bachelet.
According to the audios released by Kiper, Hermosilla would have tried to contact Uriarte, Segpres of Minister President Gabriel Boric at the time and Bachelet’s former Chief of Staff.
“I’m calling Ana Lya,” was the message Luis Hermosilla sent to businessman Munir Hazbún, Natalia Compagnon’s partner. after it became known that his client Gonzalo Vial Concha gave up on proceeding with the fraud complaint in the Caval case, where Compagnon and her ex-husband Sebastián Dávalos were targeted.
Luis Hermosilla
In light of these revelations, Dávalos told the media that there was “a mixture of keeping the case alive over a political issue. The braid that is always heard is Vial, Hermosilla and Chadwick. Where there’s Hermosilla, there’s Chadwick. All this construction comes from a case that never really happened, because there was no crime, from the hand of Luis Hermosilla. He was a plaintiff’s attorney, he dragged out the Caval case for almost 8 years. He is the one who invented a case where there was none, filed a complaint without evidence and wanted to go to trial. “Between 2019 and 2023, he systematically requested that the trial hearings be postponed.”
For her part, Ana Lya Uriarte declared in CNN Chile that Luis Hermosilla wanted to contact her, but he did not carry out any kind of procedure for the lawyer.
“The lawyer Luis Hermosilla contacted me, telling me, as the plaintiff’s attorney, presents the withdrawal of the complaint filed by his client against Ms. Compagnon and Mr. Valero, and that there were problems in carrying out those steps due to the disagreement of Mr. Sebastián Dávalos, who would want to take the trial to the extreme results for showing his complete innocence,” explained the former minister.
Along these lines, Uriarte was clear when stating that “in view of this information, I stated that I did not notice, for my part, any steps that could be taken. Therefore, I would like to state that I have never been involved, or had any relationship of any kind, in the facts and circumstances relating to the withdrawal of the complaint, which is the context in which I was quoted. “
Caval Case: Dávalos’ lawsuit against Vial Concha for $683 million
In this scenario, it became known in the last hours that Sebastián Dávalos filed a complaint against businessman Gonzalo Vial Concha, seeking compensation of $683,500,000 for the damages suffered as a result of the criminal complaint filed against him in the Caval case.
Said the son of the former president to Pulse “Gonzalo Vial may have reached an agreement with Caval, but I am not a partner or part of Caval, I did not manage to reach an agreement with him because I knew we were going to see a trial. His lawyer also knew this and was worried exactly about the civil action we could take once the trial was over. That contract was signed by Gonzalo Vial with Natalia Compagnon and Mauricio Valero behind my back and I only found out about its existence at a hearing. He can’t claim now that he didn’t know, if I didn’t sign that agreement and he has a copy of it.”
For their part, La Moneda also referred to these audios from Luis Hermosilla and the possibility that current Government officials would also be involved, and in response to that Spokesperson Camila Vallejo said “as a Government we are extremely calm, not only because we have done the corresponding review, and because justice must move forward, regardless of its militancy, proximity, that is a high point that the president has set for a long time, and that was supported by the Case of the Covenant.”
