Melbourne: Russia’s Anna Blinkova defeated Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina in the second round of the Australian Open women’s singles third round. Rybakina defeated Blinkova, who is ranked 57 in the world, in three sets. The Russian star’s victory is 22-20 in the long third set to tie the match. Score: 6-4,4-6,7-6 (22/20).

Women’s World No. 1 Iga Schwamtek won a three-set battle to advance to the third round. Iga’s victory against the American Daniela Collins was 6-4,3-6,6-4. In men’s singles, second seed Carlos Alcaraz also reached the third round after a tough challenge. In the second round, Alcaraz won against Italian Lorenzo Sonego with a score of 6-4,7-6 (6/3), 3-6,7-6 (6/3). Germany’s sixth seed Alexis Sverev and Denmark’s 11th seed Kasper Ruud entered the third round with a five-set challenge. Svarev beat Slovak qualifier Lukas Klein 7-5,3-6,4-6,7-6(7/5),7-6(10/7). Casper Rudd advanced by defeating Australia’s Max Purcell with a score of 6-3,6-7 (5/7), 6-3,3-6,7-6 (10/7).

Leading players such as Jelena Ostapenko, Solane Stephens and Grigory Dimitrov have also reached the third round.

A total of 42 points were scored in the tie between Anna Blinkova and Rybakina. This is the longest tiebreak in Australian Open women’s singles. The previous record was 38 points. It took 31 minutes to complete the draw.
