Auterion introduced the Nemyx Vertical Launch System on October 5, 2026, launching a modular drone launcher designed to fit 30 percent more aircraft into the same volume by using an internal electric elevator. The Arlington, Virginia defense software company built the hardware to extend its Nemyx swarm engine from software into the mechanics that put drones in the air, accepting high-volume commercial drones, strike drones, and interceptors from multiple manufacturers, Dronelife reported.
Most drone launchers are built for one drone from one vendor, which forces operators to carry separate boxes and power systems for different airframes. Auterion designed the new system to reverse that approach by letting operators choose their preferred drones while a single launcher keeps every unit charged and updated.
Electric Elevators Increase Drone Storage Capacity
Inside each launch tube, drones stack vertically until an electric elevator carries the next aircraft to the top position for launch. That mechanical design packs 30 percent more drones into the same spatial volume compared with launchers that lack an elevator.
Operators can configure the launch tubes in 2×2 or 4×4 arrays, or fill an entire ISO container with the system. Auterion offers specific tubes for 10-inch FPV drones and interceptors, alongside a separate container designed to house typical mid-range loitering munitions.
Multi-Vendor Hardware Compatibility
The launcher operates with airframes from several Auterion partners, including Skyfall, Airlogix, Rheinmetall, DeltaQuad, and Griffon Aerospace. This multi-vendor compatibility means customers can swap or add drone suppliers without replacing the underlying launch infrastructure.
Auterion stated that the hardware is already integrated with leading armored vehicle manufacturers in both the United States and Germany. Stored drones remain electronically connected to the launcher while inside their tubes, allowing the system to maintain power, charge batteries, and install software updates automatically without requiring a crew to open the tube.
Most drone launchers are built for one drone from one vendor, so every new drone brings another box to carry, power and maintain. Nemyx VLS works the other way around. Operators pick the drones, and the launcher keeps every one of them charged and up to date.

Human Operators Designate Targets for Automated Launch
Any vehicle powered by Auterion software can transmit a target designation to the Nemyx Vertical Launch System to execute either a single launch or a coordinated swarm launch. A human operator must designate every target before the software automates the execution sequence.
The environmentally sealed launcher operates for multiple hours using an integrated internal battery. When connected to external power sources, the system can remain forward-deployed for months or years at a time.
Integration Partners Receive System After October Announcement
Auterion made the Nemyx Vertical Launch System available to its initial integration partners following the October 5, 2026 announcement.
