Kemi Badenoch, a Conservative leader, stated that Nigel Farage gaining power would be “very bad for this country.” She accused the Reform UK leader of making promises he couldn’t keep.
Badenoch issued this warning as her party dropped to fourth place in a recent YouGov poll, trailing Labor, the Liberal Democrats, and Reform UK.This marks the Conservative PartyS lowest ranking as 2019.
“I hope not – it would be very bad for this country,” Badenoch said when questioned about Farage’s chances of gaining power. She added that farage will “say whatever he wants in order to get into power,” contrasting it with her focus on taking ”the hard road.”
Badenoch also drew parallels between Farage and Keir Starmer, stating both make promises they cannot deliver onc in government.
In a separate interview, Badenoch said she would not react to poor polling numbers with short-term political solutions.
