Hwasun County Office’s Jeong Na-eun secured third place in the women’s doubles at the 2024 China Open Badminton Championships.
In the competition held from September 17th to 22nd at the Changzhou Olympic Sports Center in China, Jeong Na-eun partnered with Kim Hye-jeong (Samsung Life Insurance) and defeated Yang Chu-yun and Tian Chun-hsun (Taiwan) 2-0 in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals. They lost 0-2 to Li Yi-jing and Luo Shi-min (China) in the semifinals and finished in third place.
Cho Hyung-chae, Director of Tourism and Sports, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating, “I am glad that they have shown good skills in international competitions following the Paris Olympics.” He also emphasized the county office’s commitment to supporting the badminton team, saying, “We will not spare our active support for the growth and development of the badminton team in the future.”
Jeong Na-eun also achieved notable success in the ‘2024 Korea Open Badminton Championships’ held at Mokpo Indoor Gymnasium from August 27 to September 1. She secured first place in the women’s doubles with Kim Hye-jeong (Samsung Life Insurance) and third place in the mixed doubles with Kim Won-ho (Samsung Life Insurance).
