Bail Granted to K Vidhya in Forgery Case

Palakkad: Accused in the forgery case involving a fake certificate from Maharaja’s College, K Vidhya, has been granted bail under certain conditions. The Mannarkkad court approved the bail with the requirement of two sureties of Rs 50,000 each. In addition, Vidhya must not engage in the same offense during or after this period, must present himself before the investigating officers every other day, and must not leave Kerala without permission. Furthermore, Vidhya must present his passport. The Nileswaram police have been authorized to arrest Vidhya, who was previously granted bail in the Agali case. The arrest is expected to occur in the near future.

In defense of Vidhya, his lawyer asserted their willingness to accept any conditions imposed. The lawyer emphasized the importance of considering Vidhya’s health, education, and age when granting bail. Additionally, the lawyer pointed out that since Vidhya had already been in custody for two days, no further information could be obtained. Taking these factors into account, the court decided to grant bail.

The prosecution revealed to the court that Vidhya had confessed to forging the document. However, they later stated that the fake seal had been discovered because Vidhya had destroyed the original. Furthermore, the prosecution argued that these actions were conducted online.

Vidhya was initially detained by the Agali police for creating a fraudulent employment certificate in the name of Maharaja’s College. He was apprehended in Mepayur on Wednesday night.

The case against Vidhya involves allegations of forging documents in the name of Maharaja’s College and working in colleges located in Kasargod and Palakkad. Rekha, posing as a guest lecturer, spent two years at Maharaja’s College. The key pieces of evidence in the case are the counterfeit college seal and the forged signature of the vice-principal.

Utilizing a fake certificate, Vidhya managed to work in two colleges, falsely claiming to have served as a visiting lecturer in the Malayalam department between 2018 and 2021. The fabricated certificate included a counterfeit seal and stamp.
