Teenager Injured in Ballymun Shooting

A teenager sustained serious injuries in a shooting incident in Ballymun, north Dublin, on Sunday afternoon. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and information following the incident, which occurred at St. Margaret’s Park.

Emergency services were alerted to the scene at approximately 12:35pm. According to a statement released by Gardaí, the injured male, who is in his late teens, was transported by ambulance to hospital for treatment. His injuries are described as serious, but non-life-threatening.

“An adult male, aged in his late teens, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries during the incident and was transported by ambulance to hospital,” Gardaí stated. The scene has been preserved for a thorough forensic examination.

A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at Ballymun Garda Station. Gardaí are actively seeking assistance from the public to piece together the events that unfolded.

Authorities are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was in the vicinity of St. Margaret’s Park between 11:30am and 1:30pm. Individuals with camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, are urged to make this material available to investigators.

“Anyone who may have camera footage (including dash-am) and was in the area of St Margaret’s Park between 11:30am and 1:30pm is asked to make this material available to investigating gardaí,” Gardaí said in their appeal.
