Bangkok Opens Service Points for Free Lung Health Screenings
The city of Bangkok has launched a new initiative to provide free lung health screenings for its residents. Amidst rising concerns over the prevalence of cancer in Thailand, the National Cancer Institute has reported more than 140,000 new cases annually, with lung cancer ranking as the leading cause of death among Thai citizens.
In an effort to reduce the risk and disease rate, the Bangkok Department of Health is inviting Bangkokians to take advantage of on-site lung health screening services. These services will be offered through a mobile x-ray vehicle, making it easily accessible for all. The goal is to encourage early detection and prompt treatment, ultimately saving lives.
To ensure the smooth running of the screenings, there are certain conditions to be met by those seeking the service. Registration will be conducted on-site, and the program is open to individuals aged 15 and above. However, due to limited capacity, each location can accommodate a maximum of 150 people at a time.
