PIMEC President Antoni Cañete has welcomed the proposed Barcelona Airport expansion,emphasizing the need for
resolutions regarding infrastructure governance.He made these remarks at the 38th PIMEC awards gala held at
Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona. The event drew approximately 1,400 attendees, including prominent figures from
Catalan politics, business, and society.
among the attendees were President of the Generalitat Salvador Illa, Barcelona Mayor Jaume Collboni, President
of the Barcelona Provincial Council Lluïsa Moret, and Government Delegate in catalonia Carlos Prieto.
“We need an airport that is connected and very well connected,” Cañete stated, highlighting that the
expansion and its management must be addressed holistically. He also acknowledged the environmental
considerations surrounding the project, noting a “total and absolute environmental sensitivity.”
Cañete also reiterated his opposition to legally mandated workday reductions, arguing that such measures shoudl
