MILAN – Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal is reportedly making another attempt to sign Inter Milan midfielder Nicolò Barella. The Italian international, a key player for Inter coach Simone Inzaghi, has emerged as a primary target for the Saudi Pro League team.

Al-Hilal, coached by Jorge Jesus, is said to be a keen admirer of Barella. The club is looking to bolster its squad with high-profile signings ahead of the Club World Cup. According to Gazzetta dello sport, Barella is on their list alongside other prominent players.

Barella reportedly Rejects Saudi Arabia Offer

Al-Hilal aims to acquire the midfielder before the World Cup. However, Barella is reportedly not interested in leaving Inter Milan.

Sources indicate that Barella has declined a lucrative offer from the Saudi club, which included a four-year contract worth 35 million euros per year, totaling 140 million euros until 2029. This is significantly higher than his current salary of 6.5 million euros at Inter, where he is only behind Hakan Calhanoglu and captain Lautaro Martinez in terms of wages.

Barella, though, has no intention of changing shirt, swearing loyalty to continue the cycle with Inter and become a flag of the ‘beneamata’.

Inter Milan’s management also intends to retain Barella, considering him a vital component of Inzaghi’s squad, alongside Lautaro Martinez, Stefan de Vrij, and Marcus Thuram.
