Queens Forest Hills Incident: Man Assaulted with Baseball Bat Over Parking Dispute
A disturbing incident occurred in Forest Hills, Queens, where a man in his 50s assaulted a man in his 70s with a baseball bat during an argument over roadside parking.
According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), the incident occurred near 77 Avenue and Austin Street around 7 p.m. on the 25th. The suspect, Michael Magill (51), and the victim, a 72-year-old man, were fighting over a parking space on the side of the road. The suspect, unable to control his anger, swung his baseball bat at the man’s head.
The suspect was arrested by police who responded to the scene immediately after the incident and charged with assault. Fortunately, the victim was reported to be in stable condition after receiving treatment for his injuries.
This incident bears a striking resemblance to another recent crime in Morris Heights, Bronx, where a man in his 50s who was selling fruit on the side of the road was beaten to death with a baseball bat by two robbers who were trying to steal his belongings.
