Batting collapse; India out of 191 | Sports | Deshabhimani

Oval
The Indian batting line-up failed again in front of the English pacers. India were bowled out for 191 in the fourth Test against England. Shardul Thakur (57 off 36 balls) was the top scorer for India. Shardul’s 63 for the eighth wicket with Umesh Yadav (10) was India’s highest ever partnership. Captain Virat Kohli (50) scored a half-century. Chris Vokes took four wickets and Ollie Robinson three for England.

In reply, England were 2–25. Jaspreet Bumra took two wickets for India. Rory Burns (5) and Haseeb Hameed (0) were out. India lost the toss and opted to bat. Leeds looked set to repeat their 78-run knock in the first innings. Rohit Sharma (11), Lokesh Rahul (17) and Cheteshwar Pujara (4) all surrendered quickly. Ravindra Jadeja returned with 10 runs. Ajinkya Rahane (14) was again disappointed. Kohli, who patiently held on to one end, also missed. Robinson fired the captain.

Shardul and Umesh came together after Rishabh Pant (9) returned. Shardul hit three sixes and seven fours. Both Mohammad Shamim and Ishant Sharma have been named in the squad.
