The Berlin International Consumer Electronics Fair, also known as IFA, is one of the world’s largest electronics fairs, alongside CES in the United States. This year, the fair celebrates its 100th anniversary, solidifying its position as the world’s oldest industrial fair.
Artificial intelligence (AI) took center stage at the expo, with various companies showcasing their latest AI-powered innovations. Reporter Kim Min-chan attended the event to provide an in-depth look at the latest developments.
LG’s AI-Powered Home Appliances
LG’s new AI home system connects various home appliances, making life more convenient and efficient. The system can automatically switch to functional clothes mode on the washing machine after a workout and even call a taxi at a specified time.

Samsung’s AI Technology
Samsung, which set up the largest exhibition hall, also focused on introducing AI technology. Their system allows users to control all home appliances through the TV, and the fridge recommends recipes based on the ingredients inside.
Companies have made significant progress in AI technology, moving beyond just providing vision to making human life more convenient and efficient through empathy and communication.

Innovation for All
This year’s fair theme, “Innovation for All,” reflects the industry’s focus on making advanced technology accessible to everyone. Each company presented innovative AI products, capturing the attention of visitors from around the world.
Around 2,200 companies participated in the exhibition, including 127 Korean companies that demonstrated their technological capabilities. Start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises from innovation partner countries also participated, showcasing their innovative products.
Sustainable Future
As AI technology continues to evolve and expand, companies are also exploring ways to incorporate energy-efficient and environmentally friendly solutions for a sustainable future.
