Battling Bangladesh on the fourth day, India won the Chattogram Test by four wickets

Chattogram: Bangladesh with a good batting performance in the second innings of the first cricket test against India. Chasing a target of 513 runs, Bangladesh are 272 runs for the loss of six wickets when play ends on the fourth day.

Opener Zakir Hasan (100) and fellow opener Najmul Hossain Shanto (67), who scored a century on his Test debut, added 124 runs for the first wicket.

The openers swung the bat cautiously after learning from the collapse of the batting in the first innings. But with the middle order unable to form big partnerships, India held on. With a day of play remaining, India need four more wickets to win.

Bangladesh won by 241 runs. Apart from the openers, the hosts also lost the wickets of Yasir Ali (5), Liton Das (19), Mushfiqur Rahim (23) and Nurul Hasan (3).

Captain Shakib Al Hasan (40*) and Mehdi Hasan Miraz (9*) are at the crease. Axar Patel took three wickets for India while Umesh Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket each.
