Individuals who served as election table members on November 16th are legally obligated to fulfill the same role on Sunday, December 14th, according to Patricia Figueroa, President of the Electoral Service (Servel) of Chile. This requirement applies to all previously assigned members.
Figueroa emphasized that serving as a table member is a ”mandatory function,” and those who fail to attend will be subject to fines as outlined in Chilean legislation. The fines range from 2 to 8 Unidad Tributaria Mensual (UTM), which currently equates to approximately $137,000 to $549,000 Chilean pesos.
Voters are instructed to go to the same polling place and table where they voted on November 16th. Individuals can verify their assigned location using the official Servel website: Servel’s online consultation tool.
