Saad Hindawi Remembers Jamil Rateb on His Death Anniversary
Director Saad Hindawi shared his memories of working with the late artist Jamil Rateb on the series ”Family Size” starring Yahya Al-Fakharani during the 2018 Ramadan drama season.
Hindawi posted archival photos of Jamil Rateb on his official Facebook account, saying: “I was fortunate to direct the last scenes shot by Prof. Jamil Rateb in 2018, when I was the director of the second unit of the series (Family Size), directed by my friend Hala Khalil, and produced by Square Media. Despite his visible tiredness, his presence in front of the camera remained unchanged, with the twinkle in his eye, controlled nervousness, and distinctive way of punctuating words.”
Hindawi continued: “I tried my best to control my feelings of sympathy for his health condition, and I was responsible for finishing filming on time due to the Ramadan broadcast schedule. I greeted him warmly as he walked, and today, September 19, the anniversary of his death, will be the last time I see him.”
Saad Hindawi’s last directorial work was in the series “Kalima Pasar” in 2016, featuring a talented cast, including Latifa, Hisham Salim, Hassan Youssef, Ahmed Salah Hosni, Reham Abdel Gafur, and Laila Ez Al Arab, written by Ahmed Abdel Fattah.
