Nahid Rushdie’s Battle with Cancer
Rushdie was diagnosed with cancer in 2004 and had been fighting the disease for over 20 years. Despite her illness, she refused to disclose its details, only revealing that she was battling a disease during television interviews.
In a television interview, Rushdie hinted at her illness, saying that there was a sentence that doctors use with all patients suffering from her disease. She also revealed that her illness had changed her perspective on life and people, making her realize who truly cared for her.
Rushdie’s experience with cancer had also made her more cautious about sharing her personal life on social media or in public gatherings. She preferred to keep her illness private, not wanting to upset those who cared for her or give false hope to those who did not.
