Shi Ying’s daughter Lin Qianyu and son Lin Yishan earlier issued statements through their father’s agency saying their father Shi Ying died peacefully surrounded by his family.

The statement also quoted Shi Ying as saying in an interview: “I am very lucky to be acting all my life. Actors entertain the public and serve the society, bringing happiness to themselves. They are also very happy for themselves. They are like gods. It is really good!

Shi Ying’s family members said that in order to comply with their father’s last wishes and keep things simple after his death so as not to disturb everyone, they only planned to hold a memorial service on November 17 at the No. 2 Funeral Home in Taipei City.

Shi Ying has been acting in the 8 o’clock slot for more than 50 years, such as “Mother House”, “Night” Market Life”, “Father and Son”, etc., which has enthralled many viewers.
