As of October ⁢4, 2024,‍ Bang & Olufsen has quietly removed previously advertised⁤ commitments regarding high-resolution Bluetooth audio and multi-device connectivity for its premium headphone lines. this shift ‌impacts both the newer⁤ Beoplay H100 and the older Beoplay H95 models.

LDAC and⁣ high-Resolution Audio Support⁢ dropped

Initially, Bang & Olufsen⁢ indicated that the Beoplay H100 ⁣would ‍gain support for LDAC, a high-resolution bluetooth audio codec,⁣ through a future software‍ update. However, this claim has now been removed from the product’s official specifications.‌ ⁤The Beoplay H100 currently supports only the⁢ standard AAC and SBC Bluetooth codecs. Furthermore, there are no plans to implement Qualcomm’s AptX ⁢adaptive codec for the older⁢ Beoplay⁢ H95 headphones.

The removal ‍of thes ⁤promised features suggests a change in Bang & Olufsen’s roadmap for its headphone products.

Multipoint Connectivity Also Removed from Roadmap

Beyond audio codecs, Bang & Olufsen had ⁢also pledged to add multipoint connectivity ⁢- allowing simultaneous‌ connection to three ‍devices – via a software update this year. ⁤This promise has also been retracted from ‍the product data. The company has not publicly explained the reasons for these changes, ⁣leading to speculation‍ that these features may have been abandoned altogether.

This represents a significant shift in ‌expectations for Bang & Olufsen customers who were anticipating⁢ these enhancements. The lack⁤ of openness surrounding these decisions is concerning.

What This Means for Existing‌ and Potential Customers

For owners⁣ of ‌the Beoplay⁢ H95 and H100, the removal of ⁤these promised features means ⁢the headphones will remain limited to standard Bluetooth audio quality and single-device connectivity. Potential buyers⁢ should be aware of these limitations before making a purchase. ⁣ While Bang & Olufsen⁢ has not explicitly ruled out revisiting these features in the future, the current situation suggests that users should not rely on their eventual implementation.
