Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov (41), who played for Tottenham Hotspur in the past, gave solid advice to his home team. Heung-min Son (30, Tottenham), who is in full bloom, advised that he should focus on staying for the future of the team, saying that he could be courted by the ‘big club’.

British ‘Evening Standard’ reported in an interview with Berbatov on the 12th (Korean time), “We need to protect Son Heung-min and Harry Kane so that Tottenham do not leave.”

Berbatov predicted that many love calls would come to Son Heung-min as well as Kane in the transfer window this summer.

“A lot of teams will be interested in Kane, and the top clubs are watching Son Heung-min,” he said.

In fact, Tottenham Hotspur are in trouble with Kane’s transfer rumors to Manchester City ahead of the 2021-22 season. In the end, it was not achieved due to opposition from the club, but Kane was sluggish at the beginning of the season in a tumultuous atmosphere.

Berbatov said: “The fact that Manchester City took Elling Haaland (Dortmund) means that Kane has fewer options, but now they will show interest in Son Heung-min after a good season.”

Heung-min Son, who wore the Tottenham jersey in the summer of 2015 after going through Hamburg and Leverkusen (above Germany), is evaluated to have fully developed this season.

He has scored 20 goals and 7 assists in the league this season, placing him in second place in the Premier League after Liverpool Mohamed Salah (22 goals).

Berbatov said, “Heung-min Son has already surpassed Kane, and only one player has scored more goals than that, Salah.” “Everyone is talking about Kane, but Heung-min Son is getting better and better. They can offer a lot of transfer fees.”

Berbatov also warned that Kane and Son Heung-min could actually leave based on his experience as a player. He said, “If big clubs send love calls to the two of us, we’ll be in the same situation as Robbie Keane and I was in the past,” he said. “At that time, we both left.”

Berbatov, who led the Tottenham attack, moved to Manchester United in 2008, and Keen also moved to Liverpool in the same year. Of course, Keane left Liverpool again after a season and returned to Tottenham, but Berbatov, who performed well at Manchester United, played until 2012.

Berbatov emphasized, “Heung-Min Son and Kane are players who can score goals no matter which team they go to. Antonio Conte, manager of Tottenham, will definitely want to keep them with them.”

Meanwhile, Son Heung-min will play a home game against Arsenal, which is competing for fourth place on the 13th. Fans are paying attention to whether Son Heung-min can lead the team to victory with the league’s 21st goal.
