Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, known for their roles in “The Bear,” are heading to Broadway. The actors will make their Broadway debuts in a stage adaptation of the film “Dog day Afternoon.”
Stephen Adly Guirgis, a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, is adapting Sidney Lumet‘s 1975 film. Rupert Goold will direct the production, scheduled to open in spring 2026. Bernthal will play Sonny Amato, the role originated by Al Pacino. Moss-Bachrach will take on the role of Sal DeSilva, first played by John Cazale.
