Stephen Adly Guirgis, a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, is adapting Sidney Lumet‘s 1975‍ film. Rupert Goold will⁤ direct the production, scheduled to open in spring⁣ 2026.⁤ Bernthal will play Sonny Amato, the⁢ role originated‍ by Al Pacino.
