Betrayal on the Pitch: Star Player Ahmed Fatuh’s Harrowing Prison Ordeal – A Month of Isolation
Ahmed Fatuh’s Ongoing Detention: A Zamalek Club Player’s Struggle
Ahmed Fatuh, a player for Zamalek club, has been experiencing a severe mental state and shock since his first trial session on August 19. His imprisonment continues, with the next session scheduled for September 16.
Fatuh’s detention has been marked by a lack of visits from his colleagues or Zamalek club officials, leaving him isolated for almost a month. This period of solitude began after his first trial session on August 19.
The Incident that Led to Fatuh’s Detention
The events leading to Fatuh’s detention began on August 11, when he was involved in a clash with a police officer named Ahmed al-Said on the International Coastal Highway. Fatuh was with his teammate, Mohamed Sowi, in his car at the time of the incident.
Following the altercation, Fatuh and Sowi were taken into custody by security services and transported to the El Alamein police station. Fatuh was presented to the public prosecution, which decided to release Sowi but imprison Fatuh for four days pending an investigation.
The Trial and Ongoing Detention
A trial session was held on August 19, where the Matrouh Criminal Court, led by President Amjad Al-Said Awad, decided to continue Fatuh’s imprisonment and adjourn the session until September 16. The court will hear the appeal of the deceased’s family on the scheduled date.
The court’s decision was made in conjunction with members Councilor Barakat Abdel Halim, Councilor Muhammad Abdel Sami Al-Ashmawi, Counselor Abdel Jalil Muhammad Hammad, and Court Secretary Hassan Omar.
