Bill Gates Denies Claims of STD and Secret Antibiotic Request
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has publicly denied allegations stemming from recently released documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, specifically claims that he contracted a sexually transmitted disease and attempted to secretly provide antibiotics to his then-wife, Melinda French Gates. The allegations surfaced in a draft email composed by Epstein himself.
Speaking with Australia’s Channel Nine News on , Gates addressed the claims for the first time since the documents were made public by the US Department of Justice. According to reports, the email, dated , details Epstein’s assertion that Gates requested antibiotics for an STD and asked him to delete emails about it.
“Jeffrey wrote an email to himself, that email was never sent,” Gates told Nine News. “The email is, you know, false. So I don’t know what his thinking was there.” He added that he regrets the time he spent with Epstein, stating, “It just reminds me, you know, every minute I spent with regret and I, you know, apologise that I did that.”
The documents suggest Gates met with Epstein on multiple occasions following Epstein’s 2008 prison sentence, reportedly to discuss expanding philanthropic efforts. Epstein’s email also allegedly included a description of Gates’ private parts and a request to provide medicine that could be secretly given to Melinda French Gates.
A spokesperson for Gates has characterized the claims as “completely false” and “absurd,” asserting that the documents demonstrate Epstein’s frustration over the end of their relationship and his attempts to damage Gates’ reputation. The spokesperson stated that Epstein went to “great lengths to entrap and defame” Gates.
The allegations come as roughly 3 million pages of previously sealed documents related to Epstein have been released. Melinda French Gates has also called on her ex-husband to answer questions regarding the claims detailed in the documents.
In an earlier interview with NPR, Melinda French Gates expressed “unbelievable sadness” regarding the allegations and stated she felt compelled to end both her marriage and her association with the Gates Foundation. “I had to leave my marriage, I felt I had to eventually leave the foundation, so it’s just sad,” she said. “At least I’ve been able to move on in life and now I hope there’s some justice for those women.”
Epstein, in the email, reportedly claimed he was “dismayed” that Gates was ending their friendship over what he termed an “accident.” The email, riddled with typos, details his accusations regarding the STD and the alleged request for antibiotics.
Another email from Epstein, also sent in 2013, accused Gates of involving him in “morally inappropriate” and “ethically unsound” activities, including allegedly obtaining drugs and facilitating “illicit trysts” with married women. Epstein claimed he resigned from roles with the Gates Foundation and BG3 due to being “caught up in a severe marital dispute between Melinda and Bill.”
Gates stated he was only at dinners with Epstein and never met any women, adding, “The more that comes out, the more clear it will be that although the time was a mistake, it had nothing to do with that kind of behaviour.”
The ABC is currently reviewing the released documents. Being named or pictured in the files does not imply wrongdoing or criminal activity.
