Pure Fitness Centers Operating Normally After Resolving Rent Dispute
Pure Fitness, a popular fitness center chain in Hong Kong, has confirmed that all its centers are operating normally after resolving a rent dispute with the owner of its Kwun Tong branch.
The issue arose when the owner, Sunstone KB (HKSAR) Limited, sued Pure Fitness (LP) Limited for allegedly failing to pay rent and other fees totaling nearly HK$8.5 million. The lawsuit claimed that Pure Fitness had been making late payments since September 2022 and had defaulted on rent payments since May 1, 2024.
According to the lease agreement, Pure Fitness had rented the 1st and 2nd floors of Manulife Plaza in Kwun Tong for a period of 6 years, from February 15, 2020 to February 14, 2026, with an extension to February 14, 2028. The owner demanded repayment of the debt, interest, and legal fees, as well as the surrender of the shop.
However, a spokesman for Pure Fitness announced that the issues with the owner had been resolved, and an agreement had been reached. The relevant lawsuits have been withdrawn, and all Pure Group fitness and yoga centers are now operating normally.
Pure Fitness is part of the Pure Group, which was established in 2002 and is headquartered in Hong Kong. The group offers a range of services, including Pure Yoga, Pure Pilates, Pure Nutrition, nood food, Pure Online, and FUZE boutique group fitness.
Despite the recent closure of another local fitness center chain, Comfort Castle, Pure Fitness has assured its customers that its centers are operating as usual.
