The young striker hit his head against a wall during the match against Finchley, a game in the Isthmian League Premier Division – the seventh tier of English football – which led to him being placed in an induced coma. He underwent surgery on Tuesday with the aim of improving his chances of recovery; however, the injury proved irreversible.
Billy Vigar was part of the Arsenal academy system from the age of 14, spending seven seasons with the club and playing alongside talents such as Charles Sagoe Jr, Omari Hutchinson, and Charlie Patiño.

“After suffering a serious brain injury on Saturday, Billy Vigar was put in an induced coma. On Tuesday he needed an operation to increase his chances of recovering. Although this helped, the injury has been too much for him and has died this morning,” the family said in a statement.
