Bird flu in humans in China | World | Deshabhimani

Beijing
A four-year-old boy has been confirmed to have bird flu in China’s Henan province. H3N8 bird flu is confirmed for the first time in humans. The boy, who was admitted to the hospital due to fever, was confirmed to have bird flu on further examination. Infection is suspected to be from a domestic chicken. It has not spread to those who come in contact with the child. China’s National Health Commission says there is no risk of a major outbreak.

In 2022, H3N8 bird flu was first confirmed in North America. The disease has previously been found in horses, dogs and birds. In 2012, 160 seals died of the disease off the northeast coast of the US.
