Black Sabbath Back to the Beginning live film to screen in Japan Nov 13

On July 5, 2025, Black Sabbath convened for a final farewell concert titled Back to the Beginning at Aston Villa Park in Birmingham, drawing 4万5,000 attendees and an estimated 約580万人 global pay-per-view viewers. The nine-hour, 68-song tribute event marked the first time the complete original lineup of Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, and Ozzy Osbourne performed together in 20 years, alongside Osbourne’s first solo performance in eight years. Just 17 days later, on July 22, 2025, Ozzy Osbourne died at age 76, making the Birmingham concert his final live performance.

Original Members Reunite for Sold-Out Stadium Concert

The sold-out stadium gathering featured guest appearances from rock and metal acts including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, Yungblud, and Papa Emeritus of Ghost, who performed covers of Black Sabbath and solo Ozzy Osbourne material. The event united generations of musicians influenced by the band, culminating in the historic reunion of the four original members.

Live Film Screenings Expand to Japan

Following the concert’s initial worldwide theatrical rollout beginning October 28, additional screenings were announced, including a final Japanese screening of the live film titled Back to the Beginning on Friday, November 13, referencing the release date of the band’s 1970 debut album. T-Joy Umeda will host a stage event with special guests prior to the screening, with tickets going on sale starting October 9.

Los Angeles Purple Carpet World Premiere

The Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles will host a purple carpet world premiere for the live film, hosted by the Osbourne family.
