Previously, the only Black Shark among the top three e-sports mobile phones in mainland China that has not been updated in the first half of 2022, finally officially launched the new Black Shark 5 series tonight. The Black Shark 5 RS has fine-tuned the shape of the previous generation. What is more special is that it has a very eye-catching bright yellow color scheme.
Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro are equipped with Snapdragon 870 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processors respectively, while Black Shark 5 RS has Snapdragon 888+ and 888 corresponding to high and low gauge models. All three have built-in VC soaking plates, and the strongest Pro uses the so-called “anti-gravity” dual VC liquid cooling system to suppress heat generation. Its “anti-gravity” orbital design is claimed to enhance the ability of the liquid to “upstream”, and it is expected to achieve better thermal conductivity with a plate with an area of 5,320mm². Unsurprisingly, the Black Shark 5 Pro and 5 RS also add custom SSD storage like the previous flagships. After it and UFS 3.1 form a disk array system, both read and write performance will be improved.

All three phones use a 144Hz 6.7-inch FHD+ central aperture flat OLED. Except for the Pro model, which is a 10-bit screen from China Star Optoelectronics, the other two choose Samsung’s E4 panel. To meet different needs, the manufacturer has also added a vibration editing function to the system.
In the shooting part, the Black Shark 5, 5 Pro and 5 RS are equipped with 16MP, 16MP and 20MP selfie cameras respectively. The rear triple camera of the Black Shark 5 consists of a 64MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro camera, while the 5 RS has a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5MP macro camera. The Black Shark 5 Pro will use a 108MP main camera and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and the remaining one is a 5MP telephoto macro, which can provide more different ways to play. In terms of sales information, the Black Shark 5 is divided into three models: 8+128, 12+128 and 12+256, and the price starts from RMB 2,799. The Black Shark 5 Pro has three configurations of 8+256, 12+256 and 16+512, and the price starts from 4,199 yuan. In addition to the standard models, these two mobile phones will also push China aerospace theme suits based on the top gauge models. It will include special edition accessories, figures, meteorite necklaces, etc. The package prices corresponding to the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro are 3,499 and 5,999 RMB respectively. In addition, the Black Shark 5 RS is available in 8+256 or 12+256, and the corresponding prices are 3,299 and 3,799 RMB. As for the earphones and the back clip, the asking price is 449 yuan and 219 yuan respectively. All new products will be pre-sold in mainland China from now on, and the listing information in Hong Kong and Taiwan is to be determined.
