Blessing Wasso, who vanished at the age of one in November 2021, has been found safe in Chicago, more than three years after her disappearance.
Wasso disappeared with her mother, Erika Ephraim, also known as Ericka Wasso, during a supervised visit at a Brighton Park facility. At the time, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) had custody of the toddler and reported both mother and daughter missing.
the case remained unsolved until this spring, when the Chicago Police Department issued a renewed missing person bulletin, suspecting that the pair may have fled to California or Texas.
This month, a breakthrough occurred when U.S. Marshals and Chicago police located Wasso and Ephraim at a residence in Chicago.

According to the Chicago Police Department, investigators spotted a young girl resembling an age-progressed photo of Blessing peering from a second-floor window.On Tuesday, June 3, officers launched a tactical operation, entering the home.
Blessing was found inside and returned to DCFS custody after being in hiding for over three years. Ephraim was arrested while attempting to flee.
Ephraim is currently held in Cook County Jail, facing charges including extradition from the California Department of Corrections and offenses related to retail theft, stolen property, and robbery in Illinois and California.
