Bliesner Notifies Mission Cloud Services of Company Failure

Vega Cloud Inc., a Liberty Lake-based software company specializing in cloud spending management, has entered receivership following the collapse of a strategic sale in early January 2026.

The company’s financial instability became critical after negotiations for a strategic sale failed to close. According to court records filed with the King County Superior Court, this failure led to a workforce stoppage and a subsequent petition to place the company into receivership.

Timeline of Operational Collapse

The decline began on January 2, 2026, when Vega Cloud CEO Kris Bliesner sent an email to clients informing them that the strategic sale had failed. This communication served as a notice to employees that they were not to report to work starting the following Monday.

By January 14, 2026, the company executed an Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors. This process appointed Barry W. Davidson of the Spokane-based law firm DBM Davidson PLLC as the receiver.

A receivership is a state-court legal process where a neutral third party takes control of a distressed company’s assets to manage operations and liquidate or sell the business to satisfy creditors. This mechanism is frequently utilized as an alternative to traditional bankruptcy proceedings.

Financial State and Liabilities

Court filings, including a receivership report dated March 1, 2026, reveal a severe liquidity crisis. When the receivership order was entered on January 15, 2026, Vega Cloud had only $12,000 remaining in its primary checking account.

This minimal cash reserve stood in stark contrast to the company’s total liabilities, which exceeded $6 million. These debts included secured debt, investor notes, cloud payables, and other liabilities.

Impact on Clients and Partners

The operational shutdown left clients unable to access necessary services. Mission Cloud Services Inc., a Los Angeles-based client, provided a declaration in the court filings detailing the impact of the collapse.

Under a reseller agreement, Mission Cloud had paid a $50,000 monthly platform fee to Vega Cloud for its services. Caleb Mills, the chief customer service officer for Mission Cloud, stated that after receiving the notice of the failed sale, he contacted Kris Bliesner.

Mission Cloud, which is an AWS Premier Tier Consulting Partner and was acquired by CDW in 2024, focuses on end-to-end cloud and AI services. The loss of Vega Cloud’s spending management tools represents a disruption in the toolset used to manage cloud costs.

Kris Bliesner has not responded to requests for comment regarding the company’s current status or the failed negotiations.
