Escalating Conflict: Israel Launches Heaviest Raids on Lebanon

On Monday, the Lebanese territory witnessed the heaviest Israeli raid since the start of the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip, amounting to around 300 in the southern and Bekaa (east of the country) cities.

According to reports by the official National News Agency, the attacks did not stop in the south, but affected new areas in eastern Lebanon.

Israeli Operations Intensify

The Israeli army announced Monday evening that it had bombed “more than 1,100 Hezbollah targets” in 24 hours in Lebanon, where mutual bombing between the two sides has increased in recent days.

The army said in a statement that the strikes “hit more than 1,100 targets,” explaining that they included “buildings, vehicles and infrastructure where missiles, launchers and drones pose a threat to Israel”.

Rising Death Toll

Lebanon’s health ministry announced that the death toll rose to 492 dead and more than 1,645 injured, including 35 children, as well as women and paramedics, after Israel struck villages and neighborhoods for the first time on Monday morning.

Israeli aircraft struck the towns of Tairdaba and al-Abbasiya in Tire district, as well as the towns of Haris and Birkat al-Jabur in Jejin region.

Displacement and Humanitarian Crisis

Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath correspondent reported that some southern regions witnessed a major internal displacement.

UNIFIL (United Nations Peacekeeping Force) has asked its civilian employees to move south with their families.

For its part, the Lebanese Ministry of Health has requested that some operations be closed to receive the wounded.

Missiles Fired into Israel

On the other hand, missile salvos were fired from the Lebanese border towards the Western Galilee.

Processions were also launched into Upper Galilee, reaching the outskirts of Safed and Tiberias.

Hezbollah announced that it had targeted the Rafael Company military industrial complex north of Haifa, with dozens of missiles.

Escalation and International Warnings

The escalation coincided with confirmation by the Israeli Defense Minister that the operations would intensify and continue in the coming days.

International, UN and Arab warnings are escalating to a full-scale war in the region.
