According to a Bloomberg report, Apple’s mysterious car-building project seems to have attracted strong support. Christopher Moore, who joined Tesla in 2014 and has been the director of Autopilot software since 2019, is said to have joined Apple. Although his LinkedIn page has not been updated yet, Bloomberg said that he will still be responsible for the self-driving software solution in the future, and will report to Stuart Bowers, a Tesla predecessor who joined Apple earlier, who was the Autopilot team before leaving Tesla in 2019. director.

Moore was one of the Tesla employees who confessed to the California DMV in May this year that Elon Musk had exaggerated the progress of the FSD development. At that time, he said that Musk’s claim that Level 5 autonomous driving is about to come true is “violating engineering reality.” In addition, Moore also testified in a 2019 fatal car accident in Florida that may have occurred due to Autopilot. According to court information in early October this year, he was no longer a Tesla employee.

In addition to Moore and Bowers, Apple has also hired engineering experts such as Michael Schwekutsch and Steve MacManus from Tesla in the past. To a certain extent, this can be regarded as Apple’s recognition of Tesla’s strength.
