The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued a weather forecast for Greater Jakarta for May 13, 2026, predicting a transition from mostly sunny daytime conditions to light rain and potential storms in several regions.
For the morning and afternoon of May 13, 2026, BMKG predicts that almost all areas of Jakarta and its surrounding regions will remain mostly sunny, although some parts of the city are expected to experience thick clouds.
Air humidity levels across Greater Jakarta are expected to remain between 60 and 94 percent on May 13, 2026, consistent with levels observed in previous days. The highest temperatures during the day are projected to reach 33 degrees Celsius, with the exception of Bogor, where the maximum temperature is expected to be 30 degrees Celsius.
While most of the region remains sunny during the day, parts of Bogor Regency in West Java are likely to experience light rain. BMKG further noted that some areas in Bogor, which saw rain beginning on the morning of May 13, 2026, may experience rain of moderate intensity.
A shift in weather is predicted for the late afternoon and evening of May 13, 2026. Around 7:00 PM WIB, BMKG forecasts light rain in parts of East Jakarta and South Jakarta. This prediction of light rain also extends to all areas of Tangerang, South Tangerang City, and Depok City.
Alongside the rain forecasts, BMKG issued a written warning on the morning of May 13, 2026, regarding severe weather risks.
“Beware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in some areas of Greater Jakarta during the day and night.”
BMKG
The potential for precipitation continues into the night of May 13, 2026, and into May 14, 2026. BMKG predicts the potential for light rain in Tangerang, South Tangerang City, and the East, South, and Central districts of Jakarta.
Additional rain is predicted to fall in the Thousand Islands, Bogor Regency, and Depok City, as well as across the majority of Bekasi.
These localized weather patterns occur as BMKG reports that the Australian Monsoon is expected to strengthen before weakening during the week of May 13, 2026.
