Bring Me The Horizon (BMTH) recently treated fans in Cologne, Germany, to the first-ever live rendition of their rock cover of Oasis’ iconic hit, ‘Wonderwall.’ The performance served as a warm-up before their appearances at Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park festivals.
Frontman Oli Sykes expressed his enthusiasm before launching into the song. He asked the crowd for support, saying, “I’m quite excited to play this… Be kind to us. If you know the words, sing as loud as you can and help us out. Ready to have some fun?” The audience responded enthusiastically, singing along to the band’s metallic spin on the classic track.
The Sheffield rock band initially released their unexpected cover as part of the Spotify Singles series in January. The cover garnered praise from Liam Gallagher, who hailed it as “absolutely incredible.” BMTH also recreated the original music video, donating all profits from the track to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
While on the BRITs 2025 red carpet, Sykes discussed the ‘Wonderwall’ cover. “It’s a good song, it’s actually one of my favorites. Top five,” Sykes said.”We always usually cover stuff that no one has ever heard of, so we were like ‘Now let’s try to reimagine something that everyone knows. Make it easy for ourselves’.It came out alright I think! It was crazy that Liam didn’t slag it off to the high heavens…”
“[We grew up] listening to them, definately. It’s hard to ignore them, especially being our age, as Oasis are a British staple,” drummer Mat Nicholls said.
Nicholls added that the band expected Gallagher “to absolutely rinse us, but he said some actually nice things! It was cool and I think it went down as good as we wished it could.”

Looking ahead, Bring Me the Horizon is set to headline Reading & Leeds 2025.sykes has also hinted at the release of additional tracks as part of ‘Nex Gen: director’s Cut.’ The band has announced a North American arena tour for the fall and will perform at the Louder Than Life festival in September. In personal news, Sykes and his wife, Alissic, are expecting twins.
