Bodo Ramelow complains about Olaf Scholz’s briefcase on TikTok

After the Chancellor, Thuringia’s Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow can now also be found on the social network Tiktok. He uses his appearance directly to take a swipe at Scholz.

Thuringia’s Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (Left) now also has a Tiktok account – and there he subtly used it against Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD). “I think briefcases on Tiktok are stupid,” said the Thuringian head of government in his first post when asked whether this accessory would always be seen on his channel. His briefcase was repeatedly the focus of attention on the Chancellor’s channel.

Ramelow said he didn’t have a briefcase. “I have a wonderful bag that says ‘Cosmopolitan Thuringia’ on it and I like to go around with it. That’s more than enough.” For his first post, Ramelow got prominent Tiktok support: He can be seen together with the Left-wing Bundestag member Heidi Reichinnek, who has more than 150,000 followers on the platform.

In the past few weeks and months, more and more politicians have appeared on Tiktok. It is considered the domain of the AfD and an important channel, especially among young groups of voters. However, there is always criticism of the network of a Chinese operator. Thuringia’s constitutional chief Stephan Kramer recently warned: “Tiktok works like a Trojan.” It reads contacts from the user’s address book and can read entries on the keyboard.
