Subsequently, Su-dong Jeon, director of the Pig Hospital of the Animal Hospital Manager, presented the newly published criteria for the evaluation of pigs with epidemic pneumonia published by KMAP. The evaluation criteria were classified into three types (negative, controlled positive, uncontrolled positive) to define the pig group.

Director Jeon suggested that if positive breeding is confirmed, focus on the non-breeding section in the case of controlled breeding, and control the non-breeding section after controlling the candidate and pig group rearing in the case of uncontrolled breeding.

Along with this, Kim Jeong-hee, head of the veterinary team at Dodram Pig Farming Cooperative Animal Hospital, emphasized the importance of taming against epidemic pneumonia, mentioning that candidate pigs are the starting point of the disease prevention chain. Team leader Kim presented a realistic strategy for purifying candidate strains for pandemic pneumonia that fits the domestic farm situation. Team Leader Kim explained, “Regardless of whether the candidate pig is infected or not, the vaccine is given twice every 3-4 weeks, and microlide antibiotics are recommended before moving into the farrowing house and before moving into the pig house.” In a controlled positive case, it is recommended to submit negative candidate money.”

In the case of vaccination, it is recommended that sows should not be vaccinated or vaccinated twice a year in the control pig group, and that piglets are vaccinated at 3-4 weeks of age Vaccination at 1-4 weeks of age is recommended on for piglets.

In particular, rearing pigs, which can be seen as the beginning of the infection chain, are of utmost importance. Compared to the long-term excretion of germs, on our farms where the healing period is short compared to the characteristic of long-term excretion of germs, in fact, the production of immunity by vaccine is the most realistic and easiest.” In addition, the speaking concert ended by saying, “Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Pharmaceuticals Korea will continue to do its best to take the lead in solving disease problems among domestic livestock farmers.”
