boeing⁢ Stock Climbs on Resumption of ‍China Deliveries

Updated May 30,2025
⁣

Boeing (BA) shares surged to their ⁢highest level since February of last year ⁢following⁣ reports that China⁣ will resume taking delivery of Boeing planes next month. ⁤CEO Kelly‍ Ortberg said Chinese airlines indicated they would begin accepting deliveries in June. Earlier in May, China reportedly reversed its ⁢ban on Boeing plane deliveries.

Investor sentiment was further buoyed by ortberg’s declaration that Boeing plans‍ to increase production of its ‍737 Max jets to 42 per month in the near term ⁢and 47 per month by year’s end.

Boeing shares have rebounded 62% since early April and are ‍up 18% since‍ the start of the year.‍ The stock was the top⁤ performer in the Dow ‍Jones Industrial Average on Thursday, climbing more than 3% to around $208.

Technical Analysis

Boeing shares broke out above the neckline of a double bottom pattern ‍earlier this month before consolidating in a ⁢flag pattern, which ⁢frequently enough signals a⁢ continuation of an uptrend. The shares broke out from the flag in Thursday’s trading session, setting the⁢ stage for ⁣another ⁢move higher. the relative strength index (RSI) ⁢confirms bullish price momentum but also indicates ⁣overbought conditions.

Key Levels

the first support level to watch is around $199, a horizontal line connecting the low of the flag pattern with multiple peaks and ⁤troughs extending back ‍to the fourth quarter of 2023. A close below⁣ this level could see the shares fall to $187. Investors may look for entry points near the double bottom pattern’s neckline, an area that may flip from prior resistance into future support.

A continuation of ⁤the stock’s recent bullish momentum could trigger a move toward $234, where the shares may encounter overhead selling pressure near a range of⁢ corresponding price ⁢action that ⁢followed a ‍stock gap in January last year. Buying above this level could see Boeing shares rise to the ⁢$265 region. Investors who⁣ bought ‍at lower prices‍ may ⁣decide to lock in profits in this area near a series of trading activity situated around the december 2023 swing high.

What’s next

Analysts will be watching closely to see if Boeing can sustain its production increases and meet delivery ⁢targets,⁣ and also⁤ whether⁤ U.S.-China ⁤trade relations ⁣continue to improve.
