Speaking at the prize handover held Saturday at the Marimas office, Khoiri recounted his discovery. “I messaged Mr. Harjanto, mentioning the rickshaw parade writing,” Khoiri said.”It turned out to be the right shirt, but it was with my sister.”
Khoiri explained that he had to wait for his sister to return from Jakarta before they could search for the elusive garment.
“We waited for my sister to come home from Jakarta. We found it under the cupboard two days before Eid,”

despite finding the shirt, Khoiri hesitated to contact Halim, unsure if the worn condition of the T-shirt would disqualify it. He attempted to wash it,but the stains remained.
“I doubted it at first because of the Rp 30 million prize,” Khoiri admitted.

Halim contacted Khoiri the day before eid al-Fitr, as the contest deadline approached. Khoiri sent a photograph of the shirt,wich Halim immediately accepted.

Damiri, 70, Khoiri’s father, revealed that he initially acquired the shirt in 1995. He said it was distributed by people in a car on Jalan Thamrin. Damiri brought it home to Pekalongan and gave it to his son six months later.
Marimas Celebrates 30 Years
Halim expressed his delight at the shirt’s discovery, marking Marimas’ 30th anniversary. “The one who found it was right; his father was a pedicab driver. Hopefully, the prize will be useful,” Halim said.
The vintage T-shirt will be preserved in an acrylic frame and displayed at the Marimas office.
“It’s okay that it’s like this; it’s authentic,” Halim said. “I will display it in an acrylic frame so people can see the front and back.First, I’ll put it in the office for the staff to see.”
In addition to the T-shirt contest, Halim invited employees who began working at Marimas in 1995 to a Halal Bihalal event at the office, commemorating the company’s 30th anniversary.
