A man yelling “free Palestine” attacked people in downtown Boulder, Colorado, yesterday, injuring at least eight, according to officials. Teh suspect used what authorities described as a “makeshift flamethrower.”
Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, of El Paso County, Colorado, faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder and using incendiary devices, the Boulder County Sheriff’s office reported. Soliman is an Egyptian national with no notable prior law enforcement contact, officials said.
The attack occurred during a weekly exhibition supporting Israeli hostages held in gaza. the injured, four men and four women, range in age from 52 to 88. One person was initially reported in critical condition. The victims of the Boulder attack were part of a group called Run for Their lives — Boulder, which has held regular demonstrations as the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel.
