Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, of El Paso County, Colorado, faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder and using incendiary devices,‍ the Boulder County Sheriff’s office reported. Soliman is an Egyptian national with no notable⁢ prior law enforcement contact, officials said.

The attack occurred during a weekly exhibition supporting Israeli hostages held in gaza. the injured, four men and four women, range in⁢ age from 52 to 88. One person was initially reported ⁣in critical condition. The victims of the⁤ Boulder attack were part of a group called Run for Their lives — Boulder, which has held regular demonstrations as the Oct. 7, 2023,⁤ Hamas attack on Israel.

Colorado Attorney ⁤General Phil Weiser ⁣suggested the attack appeared to be a hate crime, given the targeted group.
