Representative Ahmed Badawi, Chairman of the Communications Committee of the House of Representatives, has denied rumors of a price hike in recharge cards for telecommunication companies in Egypt.
Badawi made the statement during a telephone conversation with journalist Sherif Amer on the “Happening in Egypt” program broadcast on MBC Egypt satellite channel on Wednesday evening.
According to Badawi, the companies have launched new recharge cards in coordination with the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority, but the government and companies are only responding to market demands from a commercial perspective.
He emphasized that the telecommunications companies’ price plans have not changed, and there are no increases for old or new cards. The new offer is designed to meet the needs of citizens and the market’s commercial requirements.
