Compulsory Military Service in Serbia to Start in 2025

The Prime Minister of Serbia, ⁣Miloš Vučević, ‍announced⁤ that compulsory military service, ⁢lasting 75 ⁤days, is set to begin in September 2025.

Speaking in the Povlen Parliament, Vučević ⁤emphasized that the implementation⁣ of compulsory military service requires ​not only‍ changes to the​ law and administrative technical measures but also the preparation of barracks, logistics,⁢ and medical ‌centers for recruit examinations.

“We⁣ need to prepare the entire process and training,⁤ which will be challenging for our officers and non-commissioned officers, who will conduct basic military training for the new army, i.e., our ⁤new recruits, within 75 days,” Vučević stated.
