Compulsory Military Service in Serbia to Start in 2025

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Miloš Vučević, announced that compulsory military service, lasting 75 days, is set to begin in September 2025.

Speaking in the Povlen Parliament, Vučević emphasized that the implementation of compulsory military service requires not only changes to the law and administrative technical measures but also the preparation of barracks, logistics, and medical centers for recruit examinations.

“We need to prepare the entire process and training, which will be challenging for our officers and non-commissioned officers, who will conduct basic military training for the new army, i.e., our new recruits, within 75 days,” Vučević stated.
