The Ministry of Government Legislation has announced a comprehensive revision of seven presidential decrees, including the ‘Enforcement Decree of the Act on Fair Franchise Transactions’, to alleviate the economic burden on young people and vulnerable groups and support economic activities.
According to this revision, examinees who are hospitalized due to a sudden accident or illness or are quarantined due to an infectious disease in the national qualification examinations for seven fields, including certified public accountants, franchisees, certified labor attorneys, and real estate appraisers, will be able to receive a full refund of the examination fees they paid.
Additionally, vulnerable groups, such as those receiving basic livelihood security, can also receive a discount on the exam fee for the Certified Public Accountant exam.
The Ministry of Government Legislation has been revising various laws to support the social participation and economic activities of young people. Representative examples include:
- Excluding minors from the disqualification reasons for taking the national qualification examination
- Relaxing the age limit for obtaining qualifications
- Expanding the scope of practical experience to experience before obtaining a degree
- Extending the period for recognizing official language test scores required for patent attorney examinations from the previous 2-3 years to 5 years
Director Lee Wan-gyu emphasized, “This revision of the law will reduce the economic burden on young people and vulnerable groups and contribute to protecting their rights,” and “We will continue to actively support economic activities by revising the law in the future.”
